31st Aug League Away Whitwick Wanderers Won 3-0

Scorers

Good start to the new season with a good all-round performance and a comfortable 3-0 win with the goals coming from Danny Parkin 2 and Danny Bowes 1 it should have been double that score but for some really good saves from the Whitwick goalkeeper. Our man of the match was Chris Foster who dominated the midfield from start to finish

Scorers

A draw was probably the fairest result because it was virtually impossible to play any type of football. Whitwick took the advantage of the wind behind them in the first half and went 2-0 up within the first 15 minutes but try as they may they could not find the third goal and we went in at the break pleased that we kept the score down to two

It was our turn now to have the gale-force wind at our backs and we brought the scores level through Sam Kibble and a own goal but we could not find goal number three and the game eventually ended all-square at 2-2

I think both teams went away thinking that they should have won with the chances they missed but taking the conditions into consideration sharing the points was probably fairest result on the day

Scorers

Having a real good team performance on Tuesday night todays performance was probably our worst ever but we did manage to take the lead with a well taken goal from Ben Pollard even though Sileby was in control of the game they very rarely threatened our keeper and it wasn't until the 67th minute the equaliser came.We then started to show a bit of form and could have easily scored a couple goals with some clear-cut chances but in the last few minutes of the game Sileby popped up with the winning goal for them to go home with all three points

11th Sept League Home Ingles D1-1

Scorers

We had just the bare 11 today which included Paul Gunn having his first full game since breaking his leg last year and a couple of players who were carrying injuries and shouldn't really have been playing.

We controlled the game right from the off but could not find the back of the net and it was Ingles who in one of their rare breaks went ahead in the 65th minute, we continued to dominate the game and eventually were rewarded when Mark Williams popped up for the equaliser from then on we virtually camped out in Ingles penalty area but could not find the winning goal and had to be satisfied sharing the points

Not actually at the game but on all accounts the draw was a fair result. Ingles went in front midway through the first half but their lead didn't last long before Danny Bowes popped up with the equaliser, from then on both teams created some good scoring chances but could not capitalise on them and in the end both teams had to be satisfied with sharing the points

Scorers

Have just the bare 11 plus one sub we still deserved to come away with at least one point having outplayed town for most of the game and taking the lead twice with goals from Mark Williams and Sam Kibble, but in the last few minutes tired legs started to tell and with having to use our one sub at half-time we were alway going to find it very difficult to keep town at bay and the inevitable happened we conceded two goals to give Town all the3 points

Scorers

We struggled for the first 10 minutes of this match and Anstey town capitalised on our bad defending to take the lead after 15 minutes but from then on we started to get our game together and we caused Anstey defence all sorts of problems.Later on the ref denied us a clear cut penalty and then he disallowed a perfectly good goal, we thought equaliser would never come but with virtually the last kick of the game Danny Bowes popped up with a goal that nobody could dispute. We were disappointed to come away sharing the points as we thought we had outplayed Anstey for most of the game but this week it was Anstey who had the luck go their way hopefully it might be our turn next week

25th Sept League Home Genesis W2-1

Scorers

This was definitely one of those games that can come under the heading a game of two half with us having the best of play in the first half and were rewarded with a two well-taken goals by Matt Tait and Danny Bowes

The second half Genesis had the majority of play and created the better chances but bad finishing and the woodwork denied them the goal they were after but their luck changed in a last minute of the game when they were rewarded a disputed penalty which they converted to make the final score 2-1

Genesis were in control for most of the first half creating some good chances but could not finish them off but in the last 10 minutes we also got more into the game but we too squandered some good chances but were happy to go in at the break all level

The second half was more even but Genesis eventually got the break through but their lead didn't last long when Phil McHale popped up with a well taken goal for the equaliser but yet again Genesis went in front but from then on we started to control the game for the last 20 minutes and eventually got the equaliser through Danny Bowes and probably should have gone on and got the winner but in the end I think both teams went away quite satisfied with a point apiece

Scorers

It took us 10 minutes or so to settle down but once we did we started to play good football and with one of the best og i have seen this season and good header by David Pitchford we found ourselves in control with a 2-0 lead at the break A lapse in concentration just after the break which resulted in Asfordby pulling a goal back but from then on it was us who were creating the better chances and should have capitalised on a number of one-on-ones with their keeper which went amiss but eventually our persistence paid off with two goals by Matt Tait which virtually killed the game but toAsfordbys credit they did not give up and in the last few minutes of the game they hit the woodwork twice.

Scorers

last week we played in gale force winds and this week we played on what can only be described as a ploughed field but the referee decided the game would go ahead as it was the same for both sides. Markfield started the better and for the first 10 minutes they had a lot of possession but didn't create any chances, we eventually got into the game and was rewarded after 20 minutes with a well-taken goal by Phil McHale, we were controlling the game now and we found the net again but it was ruled offside by the Markfield linemen which we disputed that decision, it wasn't long after this that Markfield got the equaliser through a 35 yard shot which gave our keeper no chance to take us into the break all level at 1-1

We came out for the second half and we dominated it from start to finish creating chance after chance but couldn't find the winning goal and then the inevitable happened Markfield on one of their rare breaks got the winning goal

Not one of our best performances even though we had the majority of play and created some really good scoring chances, we had to come from behind twice and it wasn't until well into the second half that we eventually went in front through a tremendous 25 yard drive by Matt Tait from then on we were virtually camped out in their penalty area but chance after chance went begging and then the inevitable happened with the last kick of the game they popped up with the equaliser to round off a very disappointing performance and a disappointing 3-3 result

8th Jan Away League Shepshed Ams W4-0

Scorers

Nice to get back playing after 8 weeks without a game the only good thing to come out of not playing for eight weeks it has given our injured players time to recover and probably the first time since the beginning of the season our manager had nearly a full squad to pick from.

Both teams started off a bit cautious we were probably having the better of the play and creating the better chances but we had to wait until the 30th minute when Phil McHale good run down the left and a cross found Matt Tait whose powerful header gave their keeper no chance this took us into the break one nil to the good

We started the second half where we had left off in the first creating chances and giving shepshed all sorts of problems and it wasn't long before goal number two came along courtesy of Jack Richardson shepshed didn't have an answer to our attacking play and further goals by Sam Kibble, Phil McHale virtually killed off the game shepshed had one or two attacks but didn't trouble our keeper he only had one shot to save in the whole match,we should have added two or three goals but we were well satisfied with a 4-0 victory in this our first game for 8 week's

We started the game playing into the gale-force winds and were finding it very difficult to play any kind of football, Anstey to were finding it difficult to play their long-ball game as the wind was taking the ball way over the crossbar but in the 40th minute we got the break through with a well taken goal by Sam Hogg and within minutes Matt Tait added goal number two which took us into the break with a good to 2-0 lead

It was all one-way in the second half and within five minutes we had added three more goals which virtually killed of the game as Anstey had no answer to our attacking game and we went on to add five more to make the final score 10-0 with Matt Tait 4. Scorers

This is as close as a local derby can get as both teams play their home games down the Drome ,we were lucky today that we could still field a good strong side even though we had four of our squad unavailable today. We weren't in the game for the first 20 minutes and found ourselves trailing one nil, we slowly started to get back into full swing and create some good chances and in the 35th minute Danny Bowes broke through their defence with a well played shot into the far corner of the goal to take us into a break all level

The second half was probably even Stevens in the middle of the park but we were creating the better chances and in the 78 minute Matt Tait beat their offside trap to go on to give their keeper no chance with a powerful drive from just outside the box to put us in front 2-1 both sides had a number of chances for last 15 minutes of the game but neither teams could add to the score and we came away with of all three points

For the first time in weeks we turned out with a fall squad of 16 which gave our manager selection problems that he had not had on many occasions this season

We took control of the game right from the start playing some good football on a hard pitch and causing Birstall defence all sorts of problems and after 20 minutes we took lead through Matt Tait, we should have added 2 or 3 more with the good chances we were creating but we had to be satisfied going into the break with the 1-0 lead

It was all one way in the second half with Birstall very rarely bothering our defence and we soon added further goals through Danny Bowes and Jack Richardson we should have doubled the score at least but in the end we were well satisfied coming away with all three points
